If you can lend a hand, plan to bring your garden gear this Saturday, March 21, from 9:00am until noon. Volunteers will build and paint benches, shelves, and an outdoor tool shed, cultivate spring vegetables, build compost piles, make garden paths and aisles, and plant in the schools native edible food forest.
The school is located at 2055 West 24th Street in Los Angeles. (From the I-10 Freeway, take the Western Avenue exit (3 miles west of downtown) and head south on Western. Take a right turn on 24th Street. The school and parking lot will be on the right.)
If you have any questions about the work day or about the Garden School Foundation, you can visit their website, www.gardenschoolfoundation.org, or contact Nat Zappia via email or by phone at 310.699.2902.
