The evening is designed to raise money for Farmer’s Kitchen programs that will help local farmers, create jobs,  promote job training, and increase the supply of fresh food available to all income levels.

When: Friday, May 1, 2009 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm
Where: Fancifull Baskets, 5617 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles 90038
Cost: Donation of $20 per person in advance via Brown Paper Tickets; donation of $30 per person at the door
For more information: Visit Fancifull’s website or contact Fancifull by phone at 323.466.7654

Raise a glass and join Slow Food members and friends in a toast to this exciting project while sampling the bounty of California. Located in the heart of Hollywood, The Farmer’s Kitchen will be a commercial teaching, processing, and retail kitchen for the sale of prepared food and farm-fresh produce. The revenue from the Farmer’s Kitchen will support nutrition education programs and to provide job training in food preparation for Hollywood’s low-income residents. As an extension of the Hollywood Farmers’ market it will create a daily source of healthy, affordable food for Hollywood residents of all income levels.

Enjoy an array of wines, organic and sustainable, as well as a California cheese buffet, olives, chocolates and other delicacies. Meet some of the vendors from the Hollywood Farmers’ Market and learn more about The Farmer’s Kitchen, which will be a great addition to the community.
