Celebrating L.A.’s Finest Local Handmade Artisanal Edibles: Artisanal LA

October is another busy month for food-focused events here in Los Angeles, and we’re intrigued by a new quarterly event: Artisanal LA.

When: Saturday and Sunday, October 23 and 24, 2010 from 11:00am until 6:00pm
Where: The Cooper Design Space Penthouse, 860 South Los Angeles Street, Los Angeles 90014
Cost: $15 per person (cash) at the door. Children aged 12 and younger will be admitted free of charge. Presale tickets are available in a limited quantity online for $10.

Admission covers the entire weekend, which will be chock full of demos, workshops, tastings, and the opportunity to meet with a varied range of exhibitors (including Slow Food Los Angeles!). Demos and workshops will cover topics such as container kitchen herb gardens (by Wooly Pockets); backyard beekeeping (Backwards Beekeepers and Feral Honey & Bee); sustainable caviar (Petrossian); growing and cooking microgreens (Tara Kolla of Silver Lake Farms); heritage meats and home butchering (Lindy & Grundy); pickling 101 with Suzanne Griswold and Rachael Narins (aka Chicks With Knives); and many more. A complete schedule is available on the Artisanal LA website.

For complete information about the event, visit Artisanal LA on the web. We look forward to seeing many of our members and friends this weekend!
