Celebrating L.A.’s Finest Local Handmade Artisanal Edibles: Artisanal LA

October is another busy month for food-focused events here in Los Angeles, and we’re intrigued by a new quarterly event: Artisanal LA.

When: Saturday and Sunday, October 23 and 24, 2010 from 11:00am until 6:00pm
Where: The Cooper Design Space Penthouse, 860 South Los Angeles Street, Los Angeles 90014
Cost: $15 per person (cash) at the door. Children aged 12 and younger will be admitted free of charge. Presale tickets are available in a limited quantity online for $10.

Admission covers the entire weekend, which will be chock full of demos, workshops, tastings, and the opportunity to meet with a varied range of exhibitors (including Slow Food Los Angeles!). Demos and workshops will cover topics such as container kitchen herb gardens (by Wooly Pockets); backyard beekeeping (Backwards Beekeepers and Feral Honey & Bee); sustainable caviar (Petrossian); growing and cooking microgreens (Tara Kolla of Silver Lake Farms); heritage meats and home butchering (Lindy & Grundy); pickling 101 with Suzanne Griswold and Rachael Narins (aka Chicks With Knives); and many more.
